This tool uses text rules, not AI, and it does not listen to anything. There is no microphone, no recording and no voice on the other end. The instruction is the whole method: say the answer out loud, in a full sentence, before you flip the card. If you cannot finish the sentence you have found the gap. Your text stays in the browser and is never sent anywhere.

Why explaining is harder than recognising
A card asks whether the answer looks right. An explanation asks you to build it, in order, with the connections intact, which is why it exposes gaps a card never touches. This is the mechanism behind teaching something to learn it, and the popular name for the study version is the Feynman technique. It works because vagueness is audible.
The follow-up question is the actual product
Anyone can talk at a wall for two minutes and feel fluent. What makes the exercise bite is something noticing the sentence where you went abstract and asking about it, because that is precisely the sentence you would have skipped forever. This is a think aloud protocol turned into a study loop, and the listening half is the part that is hard to build.

Time and a room. Explaining one topic aloud takes several minutes and cannot be done on a bus, in a library, or in the ten minutes before a seminar.
