Learn each concept in both directions
Questions describe a scenario and ask for the term, and also give a term and ask for an example. A card that only runs one way leaves you fluent in half the exam. Making the reverse card takes seconds and it is the single most efficient adjustment available in this unit.
Heuristics are useful shortcuts, not stupidity
The availability and representativeness shortcuts exist because they usually work quickly enough. They fail in predictable circumstances, and questions describe exactly those circumstances. Framing them as errors rather than as trade-offs makes the failures harder to predict.
Working memory has a small capacity and one workaround
Working memory holds a few items briefly while you manipulate them. Chunking raises the effective limit by grouping items into meaningful units, which is why a phone number is easier in blocks. That mechanism appears in questions about learning strategies as well as about memory itself.
Schemas explain both good and bad remembering
A schema speeds up understanding by supplying expectations, and the same expectations insert details that were never there. Memory reconstruction questions turn on this, and an answer that mentions both the benefit and the cost demonstrates the concept rather than the label.
This unit describes the study habits that fail
Rereading feels effective because familiarity is easy to mistake for knowledge, a gap Karpicke and Roediger measured directly on delayed tests. Students in this course have the unusual advantage of being taught, in a graded unit, why their default revision method underperforms. Using that on this very unit is the obvious move.

What is AP Psychology Unit 2?
Cognition: memory, thinking, problem solving, language and the heuristics and biases that shape all of them.
How is it different from Unit 1?
Unit 1 is a volume problem. Here almost every concept is defined by an experiment, and questions often describe the study instead of naming the term.
