rong answer is a misunderstood concept: 49.6% of mistakes, far ahead of weak memorisation at 14.7%. True or false questions are answered correctly 66.2% of the time, multiple choice questions 54.8%. A quiz takes a median of 4.9 seconds to generate.
Half of all mistakes are conceptual, not memory
Of 790 wrong answers, 392, or 49.6%, come from misunderstanding the concept. Weak memorisation accounts for 14.7% and misreading the question for 4.8%. Careless slips and formula mix ups together stay under 2%; the remaining 29.5% could not be classified. When we remove the three accounts that answered the most questions and recalculate, the order does not change: 43.0% conceptual, 14.9% memorisation, 5.3% misreading. Counting only the mistakes that could be classified, about seven in ten are conceptual.
What should you do when a topic keeps going wrong?
A conceptual mistake does not go away with more memorising. Drilling the same card again rarely helps when a topic keeps going wrong, because the problem is understanding, not recall. Read the explanation and the sentence in your source first, then test yourself with a different question on the same topic. Making yourself recall information instead of rereading it is the testing effect, long documented in research. Bringing a topic back just before you would forget it is the job of spaced repetition. That is why WeSolve+ schedules the questions you got wrong; the ones you know come back less often, the ones you miss come back sooner.
Why do true or false questions look easier?
Accuracy on true or false questions is 66.2%, against 54.8% for multiple choice. Without the three busiest accounts the gap points the same way, 68.6% against 60.8%. Much of that gap is luck: a random answer to a two option question is right half the time, while on a four or five option multiple choice question the odds are far lower. If you want an honest measure of what you know, use multiple choice; true or false is a good warm up and a weak test.
How long does it take to generate a quiz?
Over the same period, the 326 successful quiz generation calls with a recorded time had a median of 4.9 seconds, and nine in ten finished in under 12.4 seconds. The separate step that reads your file takes a median of 3.8 seconds. Of 336 generation calls, 7 failed, which is 2.1%; the last failure was on 4 September, and there has been none since.
What we removed from this page, and why
The first version of this page, published on 30 September 2026, also said that students who return to a topic go from 56% to 72% correct, and that 81% of studied topics are never revisited. On a second check we found that our database does not record study sessions in a way that supports those two calculations: most saved attempts hold a single answer, and some share the same second, so the order of attempts cannot be fixed. The same data gave different results depending on how the query ran, so we removed both findings. We also removed 192 answers from an internal demo account that had been counted by mistake.
How we collected this data
The figures come from aggregate records in the WeSolve+ database: 1,790 questions answered between 24 August and 29 September 2026, 738 questions generated in the same period and 336 quiz generation calls. No personal information, question text or file name was read; only totals were used. The internal demo account is excluded. Every finding was calculated twice, once with all the data and once without the three accounts that answered the most questions, and any finding where the two did not point the same way was left off this page. Some older true or false questions had been stored as multiple choice; that was corrected in the database on 30 September. These are observational figures, not proof of cause. The page is updated every month with the same calculations, and you are free to reuse the data with a credit.

What causes most wrong answers?
Of 790 wrong answers on WeSolve+, 49.6% come from misunderstanding the concept. Weak memorisation causes 14.7% and misreading the question 4.8%; the remaining 29.5% could not be classified.
Are true or false questions easier than multiple choice?
They score higher: 66.2% correct against 54.8% for multiple choice. Much of the gap is chance, since a random answer to a two option question is right half the time.
How fast does WeSolve+ make a quiz?
From 24 August to 29 September 2026, the median successful quiz generation on WeSolve+ took 4.9 seconds, and nine in ten finished in under 12.4 seconds.
Why did this page change on 30 September?
The first version also reported accuracy gains from repeating a topic. A second check showed our database cannot order study attempts reliably, so we removed that finding along with an internal demo account's answers.
